Your Ark, Your Amulet

Our journey is like a path that connects objects, that could strengthen our belief. It’s a kinda different approach in how we figure out all the intangible journey, work and inspiration in the same direction.

In every breath we take, every pulse of blood that goes through from artery into vein, or every stream that leads to accelerated movement, we will shape our knowledge about the related reference to the path that we’ve been through. We shape ourselves into something we like or not. It will determine our intention.

We acknowledge cycles of activity, the constellation of social bodies, or tree of command will shape our intentions in daily life. After the path of learning journey that i’ve been through, I can say that kind of cycle and constellation were like the ark that covered our intention. If we know the story about The Ark of Moses and the Noah’s Ark, we will know that the ark is not only about how to put the artifact in a safe place, but also becoming a safe space to survive and grow. In this case, I can say all of the content in the ark, that is, that is being or thing that’ve been visualized, were the script, the north star of the future.

So, the future can not always be determined by a constellation of gestures, but also the content in the ark also. I also believe that the ark could also become an amulet, or the focal point, to set our orientation in shaping our intention.

I’ve been through the experience when I was asked by the leader of an indigenous tribe to accompany him in a hearing session. He told me to do the “scratch thing”, he said to my scribe. He knew the activity was based on integration of subconscious and conscious activity. And he said to his colleague to collect my scribe and put the A4 scribe, flipped it in his pocket. I was really suprised at the situation. I think it’s beyond my control to let my scribes like amulets. But I believe he knows more about what I’m doing. So I gave him my approval. It’s a big shock in my learning journey. Actually, the sound of fear was sounding so loud in my head.

I still have a commitment to doing my scientific work as much as I can. But life is not always about science. It is not always about counting, measuring, or creating new target. It is not always about about filling the cabinet until it is full. I also realize that we need to aware with the space, hold the space, maintaining space, and amplify its impact to feed our awareness. We create our “Ma”, in Javanese culture it called “Hong”, or in Sufism there’s a gesture to allowed powerful space that called “Bis(millah)” — it’s also part of lyric in Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen — to allow the space to be with us in every aspect. We let the unknown to become our organ of the future.

My intention of my life now is about humanizing myself, so I can always have a role, whether it’s minor or major, in every context. So I could become an ark, and my work will always become an artefact and a script. For my torch in the undefined journey, my future sanctuary.
