Pretend to Sail on The Longest Journey

I’ve told a story about the Bajau Tribe that had rituals to synchronize the soul, the heart, the muscle, within the hierarchical of a spiritual journey. I will tell you a story about how other indigenous people try to shape their existence through creating living and multidimensional artifacts.

Yes. Artifact. It feels more deep and objective to tie and understanding in a knot of knowledge, and we call it an artifact, than a report. The artifact is unlike archive, that has no relation while it placed in the cabinet of the archive room.

I always have the perspective that artifacts always have an impact, always “work”. It’s an active entity, and has functional (f) value in every social algorithm. I started to understand that when learning about the hierarchy of data.

In simple terms, an artifact is an archive that has a role that runs like hot or warm data. It shapes the context. It has a role and could become variables in the creation of a moment.

The opening of this article is far from the title. But, it’s a perfect start to talk about the long journey. Data is like a record of the past. And gesture is like the recording of the future. So, when the data and gestures can dance “properly”, in a good beat, in a vibrant space, or in a multi-player goal in a game, I think the journey will be everlasting.

If we take the ship as an example of a container for making a journey, we can figure out and even design what ship that will fulfill our intention in creating the everlasting journey. There will be spaces to become containers, a group of intention to create insightful moments, and also the power of living that will be transferred as energy to inspire and to add value.

Harmonizing The Differences

The essence of the longest journey is not about the distances and quantities that happen and occur while the journey starts. The longest journey will always talk about harmonizing the differences, (always) finding the balance, setting the equilibrium, and practicing the dynamic rhythm through good breath and always evolving our muscles to adapt and stay grown.

If we look into the history of civilization, the civilization that will survive will have a story that has always been kept and told for generations. The value is not static. It’s always evolving, and always creates space, or maybe holes, or sometimes nodes. I realize that value is demanding. It’s always set our capability to adapt and grow, and understand the value in a deeper spectrum of understanding. Deeper understanding is sometimes complex, but fractalized, or has the root of setting up our perception to see the big pictures.

Generating Tensions

It’s dynamic. It’s sometimes volatile, and it’s sometimes triggering. Triggering tensions, friction, and setting us in contraction. The ability to create the best asymtote in a curve of tension always creates added values.

For people who have a role in conditioning the constellation of social tension, agility also becomes profound to be set as a main ability in enhancing roles as part of the longest journey.

Dance with Tensions

I learned about Adaptive Leadership in a workshop that was held by Acument in 2020. I learn several tools about how to set the process of adaptation as a dancing moment. A dancing moment that feels like while we’re on the dance floor, and interestingly, it looks like rhythm, and amazingly, it’s like a group of organs that have collective pulses, if we’re looking from the balcony.

The tensions always become opportunity, it’s like the two or more directions starting and starting to shape what intention or contraction of variables, that will lead to variables functioning into any kind of function. If there’s only one function, the function itself will become the filter where variables will become hot, warm, and cold data. Which variables will become containers for other variables. The analogy itself is like brain nerves. Connected to immerse objects in space, immersing signs into notification, and constellations into matter.

When the dancing time comes, when the challenge comes, it always becomes the moment to shape ourselves to shift. Transformed without planned. And the sailor had that “muscle”. Muscle to sail into the longest journey.

The unknown.
